Hailed by IGN as “balanced between simulation and arcade shooter, creating an excellent combat experience,” Strike Suit Zero or SSZ is one of the latest indie games to sweep the market. It’s a graphical eye candy that is reminiscent of the Gundam franchise. We love the game, but it sure is plagued with crashes, errors, and some control glitches. The developers are working hard to continue rolling patches to address these issues, but until then, we’ve compiled a guide to help you get through.
Strike Suit Zero Crashes, Errors, Poor FPS, Joystick issues, Adjust FOV, White screen, Cannot start
Poor FPS in Strike Suit Zero
Two quick solutions:
- Turn off v-sync
- Turn on nVidia adaptive v-sync
A little background from the developers on why there is this issue:
We chose, perhaps unwisely, to clamp the frame rate at “roughly” 60fps. SSZ is built with consoles in mind, and hence built to run at a constant 60fps on those machines. It is possible we’ll lift this restriction at some point in the near future, you’ll find your card will achieve a significantly better framerate than that!
Joystick remapping issues in Strike Suit Zero
If you are getting bugs in remapping joystick controls while using your keyboard in Strike Suit Zero, make sure your options are set to ‘joystick + keyboard’
How to change the language in Strike Suit Zero
You can change the language by following these steps:
- Go to your game library in steam.
- Right click on strike suit zero.
- Select properties.
- Select Language tab.
- From there you’ll see a dropdown list where you’ll be able to select another language.
If this does not work or is not available, try a Steam override:
Right click the game in steam, select properties and press the ‘launch option’ button and type in one of the following:
This should override the steam setting of English.
Crashing in Mission 2, Mission 4 and Mission 12
We are working on finding a fix for this. Hoopefully a patch will be released soon.
FOV locked at 45
Enable Multiple monitor mode. Use the arrow keys to resize the Menu panel. Press Enter to accept. FOV should now be unlocked.
Dual screen or multiple monitor not working in Strike Suit Zero
If you get a compressed display, use the arrow keys after you enable multimonitor mode to expand the GUI.
Here are additional inputs from the developers:
In order to run the game in more than one monitor you need to have the following requirements:
Before going ingame:
- A card that supports NVIDIA Surround or Ati Eyefinity
- Enable that surround/eyefinity option in your graphics driver.
- Set the resolution to the maximum resolution your graphics card can handle so it spans across all your screens.
- Enable multimonitor mode.
Now, when you enable the multimonitor mode in the graphic options menu, you will be able to readjust the size of the whole front end to fit your screen. If you have only 2 monitors maybe it’s a good idea to scale it up to so it fills both screens. If you have 3 or more monitors, it’s better to scale the front end to fit just the central monitor.

Strike Suit Zero black screen crash / white screen crash
Update: This seems to have been resolved by a recent patch rolled out. Make sure your game is up to date. Otherwise, let us know in the comments if this problem persists.
Cannot start Strike Suit Zero
Check that the game is using your GPU and not the mainboard chipset. Switching this in Nvidia COntrol Center fixed it will let you play the game.
Control issues – jerkiness and overcompensating
If you’re having a lot of trouble targeting and controlling your ship, try lowering the sensitivity on your strike mode using the game options.
